In 2012, I was selected as one of the “Women to Watch” on NBC 26 out of Augusta. They came and did a story about me at my office and videoed me riding my horse Magic.

I don’t think that many people saw the clip or remembered it, so it may not have been a real 15 minutes of fame. But then the next January, they had a banquet for everyone selected during the previous year. After I had had two glasses of wine (and I don’t drink), they told us we would be taping promos for the news.
We all had to stand in front of the camera and say “This is NBC 26, your 26 Women to Watch station.” They made us say it over and over. They apparently wanted to have some short promos, so they made me say it very fast, I guess because I am already a fast talker.
So anyway, I wasn’t very well dressed (we were in a hurry) and I wasn’t wearing any makeup or anything, and I would say my delivery was not great. But people definitely saw the promo. And for that, unfortunately, I am famous. Fortunately, there is a new crew of women now, and their promos will probably be on, not mine.
